Tablets for the relief of nasal and eye symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Contains 20 tablets.
It is a medicine that belongs to the group called antihistamines and is therefore used to relieve allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (sneezing, nasal itching, runny nose, nasal congestion and red, watery eyes) and urticaria (hives).
It comes in a pack of 10 tablets.
Suitable for adults and adolescents from 12 years of age.
Take 1 tablet once a day. The tablets can be taken with or without food, with a glass of water. Occasionally it may be necessary to increase the dose to 20 mg of ebastine (2 tablets).
In patients with severe liver disease, the dose of 1 tablet daily should not be exceeded.
Do not use Bactil 10 mg:
In children under 12 years of age.
In case of allergy to ebastine or to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding and have not previously consulted your doctor.
Like all medicines, Bactil 10 mg may cause side effects, although not all patients will experience them. In this case, the following have been observed:

- Headache

- Drowsiness
- Dry mouth
Rare
- Hypersensitivity reactions: allergic reactions
- Nervousness, insomnia
- Dizziness, decreased sensation of touch or sensation, decreased or altered taste
- Palpitations, tachycardia
- abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, digestive problems
- liver inflammation (hepatitis), cholestasis, abnormal liver function tests (increased transaminases, gamma-GT, alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin)
- Urticaria, skin rash, dermatitis
- Menstrual disorders
- Edema (swelling due to fluid accumulation), fatigue.
Frequency not known:
- Weight gain
- Increased appetite
The active substance in Bactil 10 mg is ebastine. Each tablet contains 10 mg of ebastine. The other ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose (E-460i), pregelatinised maize starch, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium (E-468) and magnesium stearate (E-572), hypromellose (E-464), macrogol 6,000 and titanium dioxide (E-171).
Taking the medicine with food or drink does not affect the effectiveness of the medicine.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have taken or may need to take any other medicines.
Bactil 10 mg may interfere with the results of allergy skin tests, so it is advisable not to perform them until 5-7 days after stopping treatment.
