Desloratadine is an antihistamine that helps to control the allergic reaction and its symptoms, without causing drowsiness.
Contains 20 tablets.
Desloratadine 5 mg is the active substance in this allergy medicine, which helps to control the allergic reaction.
It is used to relieve the symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal passages caused by an allergy, e.g. hay fever or dust mite allergy), including sneezing, runny or itchy nose.It is also used to relieve symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria (skin disease of unknown cause), initially diagnosed by your doctor. These symptoms include itching and skin hives.
Desloratadine is a second-generation antihistamine used for the treatment of allergy symptoms and hives. Unlike first-generation antihistamines, it does not usually cause drowsiness, as its action on the central nervous system is limited. It can therefore be taken at any time of the day without affecting daily activity.
The relief of these symptoms lasts for a full day, helping you to continue your daily activities while maintaining normal sleep periods.
Desloratadine can help reduce cough if it is caused by allergy or allergic rhinitis. By reducing inflammation and other allergic symptoms, it can relieve the associated cough.
Desloratadine 5 mg is suitable for use in adults over 18 years of age who want to combat allergy symptoms.
Dosage: The dose of desloratadine in adults is 1 tablet once a day. The duration of treatment depends on the type, duration and course of symptoms.

The antihistamine desloratadine has been associated with the possibility of weight gain, although this is neither common nor clearly established as a side effect. The possible mechanism by which some antihistamines may cause weight gain is by blocking histamine, which is also involved in appetite regulation. By reducing the action of histamine, it may increase appetite and therefore body weight in some people.
However, most studies agree that weight gain is more common with first generation antihistamines and not with second generation antihistamines such as desloratadine.
