It is a medicine in capsule form formulated with extended-release caffeine as the main active ingredient, which stimulates the nervous system.
It is intended for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age who are seeking relief from occasional feelings of tiredness, lack of strength or weakness.
Take 1 capsule of Durvitan with some liquid. Up to a maximum of 3 capsules per day every 6 hours.
It is recommended to moderate the consumption of caffeinated foods, such as coffee or tea, as they may produce an effect similar to that of this medicine. Do not take the last dose 6 hours before going to sleep, as this may cause insomnia.
Do not take Durvitan:
In children under 12 years of age.
In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to caffeine or any of the other ingredients present in this medicine.
In mental disorders related to anxiety, insomnia, epilepsy or nervous excitement.
In serious disorders of the heart, liver, in case of stomach ulcer, duodenum or hypertension.
If you are pregnant, unless recommended and monitored by a doctor. It is also not recommended during breast-feeding, as caffeine can pass into breast milk.
Durvitan may cause side effects, as is the case with other medicines, which does not mean that everyone will suffer from them. In this case, the following have been observed:
Very frequent: excitement, restlessness, insomnia.
Frequent: stomach pain, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, ringing in the ears, disorientation, rapid breathing, irritability, hot flushes, heart rhythm disorders, heavy urination.
Rare: hypoglycaemia, hyperglycaemia.
Each Durvitan hard capsule contains 300 mg of caffeine as the main active ingredient. The other excipients are: corn starch, sucrose, povidone, Shellac lacquer and talc.
Durvitan capsules is a caffeine-containing medicine indicated for patients with a feeling of weakness or lack of physical strength that occasionally occurs in patients over twelve years of age.
Its capsules are prolonged-release to achieve the desired effect over a period of time. Therefore, one capsule can be taken every six hours, up to a maximum of three per day, preferably with water or food. The intake of stimulant drugs such as tea, chocolate or coffee should be limited to avoid synergy.
