Natecal is amedicine used for the treatment and prevention of calcium deficiency, as well as an adjuvant in the treatment of osteoporosis.
It comes in a convenient pack of 60 chewable tablets.
Intended for use in adults and paediatric population.
The recommended daily dose varies according to the pathology and age of the patient:
For calcium deficiency
Adults: 1-2 tablets per day.
Children: 1 tablet/day.
As an adjuvant treatment in osteoporosis
Adults: 1-2 tablets/day.
Do not use Natecal 20 Tablets:
In case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
In patients with kidney stones, diseases and/or situations giving rise to hypercalcaemia and/or hypercalciuria, patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance.
In conjunction with other thiazide diuretics.
Like all medicines, Natecal may cause side effects:
Infrequent: hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria, constipation, flatulence, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea.
Very rare: milk-alkali syndrome, pruritus, rash, urticaria.
The active substance of Natecal contains 1,500 mg of calcium carbonate, equivalent to 600 mg of calcium. The other excipients are: Sorbitol (E420), Maltodextrin, Lactose monohydrate, Magnesium stearate, Croscarmellose sodium, Aniseed essence, Peppermint essence, Molasses essence, Aspartame (E951), Saccharin sodium.
When taking this tablet, it should be chewed or sucked.
