Chaosin 60 Sachets

It is a medicine in the form of oral suspension sachets formulated with calcium, a mineral essential for the correct formation and maintenance of bones.

Its use is indicated as a supplement for calcium deficiency states, as well as for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and hyperphosphatemia.

It comes in a convenient 60-sachet pack.

Suitable for use in adults and children over 3 years of age.

The recommended daily dose varies according to the weight and age of the patient:

• Children: 500-1000 mg per day

• Adults: 1000-1500 mg per day.

If a daily dose of 500 mg is required, dissolve one sachet in a glass of water and take only half of it.

Do not use Caosina 60 sachets:

• In children under 3 years of age.

• If you have high levels of calcium in your blood (hypercalcaemia), in your urine (hypercalciuria) or if you suffer from ventricular fibrillation.

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding and have not previously consulted your doctor.

Like all medicines, Caosine 60 sachets can cause side effects:

• Common adverse reactions: Hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria, nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pain.

The active ingredient of Caosine is calcium carbonate. Each sachet contains 2,500 mg of calcium carbonate, equivalent to 1,000 mg or 25 mmol of calcium. The other ingredients are: Saccharin sodium and ethyl vanillin.

This medicine is in the form of a powder for oral suspension and can be taken with or without food.

It should not be taken until two hours after ingestion of foods rich in oxalic or phytic acid such as spinach, rhubarb or wholegrain cereals.
