Appetite stimulant medicine, indicated for the symptomatic treatment of anorexia.

It is a medicine with appetite-stimulating action, mainly used to treat anorexia.
Suitable for use in adults and children over 2 years of age.
The recommended dosage varies according to the weight and age of the patient:
Adults: 4 ml for every 10 kilos of weight; the total should be divided into 3 or 4 intakes per day, not exceeding 20 ml per day.
Children: 2 ml for every 4 kg of weight.
Do not use Pranzo in children under 2 years of age.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: this medicine cannot be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Do not take this medicine with alcoholic drinks and should be taken before meals.
This medicine contains sucrose (special care in diabetes), ethanol (special care in patients with alcoholism), amaranth (may cause asthma), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (may cause allergic reactions) and sodium (special care in hypertension).
Do not take this medicine if you need to drive, as it may cause impaired reflexes.
Like all medicines, Pranzo syrup may cause side effects:
Common adverse reactions: mental confusion, nausea, vomiting, constipation and fatigue.
Very frequent adverse reactions: dizziness, drowsiness.
The active ingredients of Pranzo oral solution are: carnitine hydrochloride, lysine hydrochloride and cyproheptadine hydrochloride. Each ml of oral solution contains 62.50 mg carnitine hydrochloride, 1.25 mg lysine hydrochloride and 0.50 mg cyproheptadine hydrochloride.
The other ingredients are: sucrose, 96 per cent ethanol, saccharin sodium, raspberry essence 5304-A, disodium edetate, potassium sorbate (E 202), propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium salt (E 217), amaranth (E 123) and purified water.
Pranzo oral solution comes in a 200 ml bottle with a double measuring spoon. It is clear-pink in colour and has a pleasant raspberry flavour.
Do not take more than the amount stated on this leaflet.
