Bekunis Complex 40 Gastro-resistant Tablets

It is a herbal medicine with laxative and stimulant action. It is used to treat occasional constipation.

It comes in a handy pack of 40 gastroresistant tablets.

Intended for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

The dose is 1 to 2 coated tablets a day, with the help of some liquid before going to bed. The laxative effect is achieved 6 to 9 hours after taking.

This medicine should not be taken continuously for more than 6-8 days.

Do not use Bekunis Complex:

• In children under 12 years of age.

• In case of allergy to senna or to any of the other components present in the composition of this medicine.

• If you suffer from abdominal pain of unknown origin.

• If you suffer from ileus, appendicitis, chronic inflammatory bowel diseases such as e.g. Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis; in case of abdominal pain of unknown cause, as well as in cases of severe dehydration with loss of water and salt.

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

As with all medicines, Bekunis Complex may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. In this case, it has been observed:

• Occasional stomach pain and spasms, bloating, nausea, nausea, mucous stools and/or diarrhoea, skin rashes, allergic reactions may occur.

• A yellow-red-brown discolouration of the urine may occur, although this is of no clinical significance. All these symptoms disappear when treatment is discontinued.

The active substance in Bekunis Complex is Senna extract. Each film-coated tablet of Bekunis Complex contains: 60 mg Cassia angustifolia (Senna) fruits*, 20 mg Cassia angustifolia (Senna) leaves*, 25 mg dry aqueous extract of Cassia angustifolia (Senna) fruits*, 5.1 mg Bbsacodyl. The other excipients are: sucrose, lactose anhydrous, talc, sodium sulphate anhydrous, calcium carbonate (E-170), methacrylic acid copolymer, gum arabic, hydrolysed maize starch, colloidal silica, sodium sulphate anhydrous, calcium carbonate (E-170), methacrylic acid copolymer, gum arabic, hydrolysed corn starch, sodium chloride (E-170).(Contains: corn starch hydrolysate, colloidal silica, casein formaldehyde, gelatin, titanium dioxide (E-171), magnesium stearate, macrogol 6000, stearic acid, polysorbate 80.

*(Content of hydroxyanthracene derivatives expressed as sennosides B: 4-6 mg).

Treatment of constipation should be accompanied by appropriate dietary hygiene measures, i.e. enriching the diet with a diet rich in vegetable fibre and drink (water), and exercise.

You should consult your doctor if it gets worse or does not improve after 4 days.
