Paracetamol Aurovitas 650 mg, 20 tablets

It is a medicine formulated with 650 mg of paracetamol used for the treatment of symptoms that involve pain, as well as to reduce fever, thanks to its antipyretic properties.

It is indicated for adults and those over 15 years of age, although it can also be used in children following the dosage guidelines in the following section.

In adults and adolescents over 15 years of age, take one tablet every 4-6 hours, without exceeding 3 g/day of paracetamol.

In children and adolescents under 15 years of age, the dose should be adjusted as follows:

• 22 - 25 kg (6 - 10 years), ½ tablet every 6 hours, maximum 2 tablets/day.

• 26 - 40 kg (8 - 13 years), ½ tablet every 4 hours, maximum 3 tablets/day.

• 41 - 50 kg (12 - 15 years), 1 tablet every 6 hours, maximum 4 tablets/day.

In patients with impaired renal function, the dose should be adjusted as follows.

• Glomerular filtration rate 10-50 ml/min, the dose should be 500 mg every 6 hours.

• Glomerular filtration rate less than 10 ml/min, the dose should be 500 mg every 8 h.

It is not recommended that the dose exceeds 60 mg/kg/day of paracetamol.

In patients with hepatic insufficiency, the dose should not exceed 2 g/day, with an interval of 8 hours between doses.

• Do not use paracetamol 650 mg Aurovitas/Apotex if you are hypersensitive to paracetamol or any of the excipients, in hepatocellular disorders, or phenylketonuria.

• Special care should be taken in patients with chronic alcoholism, renal failure, heart failure, pulmonary disorders and anaemia, among others.

• No problems have been reported in pregnant women, although a doctor should always be consulted before use.

• No problems have been reported in breast-feeding, although a doctor should always be consulted before use, as maximum concentrations of 10-15 microlitres/ml have been found in milk 2 hours after ingestion.

• A doctor should be consulted if you are taking medicines such as chloramphenicol, propranolol, probenecid, oral anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, loop diuretics, methotrexate, methotrexate, methotrexate, methotrexate and other drugs.The doctor should be consulted if you are taking drugs such as chloramphenicol, propranolol, probenecid, oral anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, loop diuretics, metoclopramide, domperidone, rifampicin, lamotrigine, isoniazid, among others, as the plasma levels of these or of paracetamol may be affected, increasing or decreasing, causing toxicity or shielding the effect relatively.

Paracetamol 650 mg Apotex/Aurovitas may cause side effects, as with all medicines. Specifically, the following have been observed

• Hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, anaphylactic shock), general malaise, agranulocytosis, hypoglycaemia, increased transaminases, hepatotoxicity, cloudy urine, among others.

• It may also cause hypotension.

Each Apotex/Aurovitas tablet contains 650 mg of paracetamol, which is the active substance of the medicinal product. Excipients: magnesium stearate of vegetable origin, pregelatinised maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K-30, crospovidone and stearic acid.

If you have pain due to any kind of blow, illness, contracture, menstrual pain, headache or fever, take 1 tablet of this medicine every 4-6 hours, depending on the intensity of the symptoms.

Remember not to exceed the maximum dose of 60 mg/kg/day, spread over several doses.

If after 5 days of treatment the pain does not improve or new or worsening symptoms appear, stop the treatment and see your doctor for a clinical assessment and appropriate adjustment of the treatment. The same procedure should be followed if feverish symptoms last longer than 3 days.
