Doctril 400 Forte is an ibuprofen-based medicine with anti-inflammatory and antipyretic action, which can be used both to reduce fever and to relieve mild to moderate pain.
How does it work?
Ibuprofen is a drug that reduces inflammation and pain by preventing the formation of prostaglandins in the body, which are produced in response to injury or certain diseases.
How long does it take for Doctril® 400 Forte to take effect?
These tablets are able to relieve pain, reduce fever and reduce inflammation from half an hour after ingestion for up to six hours.
How is it used?
In adults, take 1 tablet every 4/8 hours depending on fever or pain. In children between 7 and 8 years of age, take half a tablet a maximum of 3 times a day.
Who can use it?
This medicine is used in adults, adolescents and children from 7 years of age to treat symptoms of mild to moderate pain, such as headache, dental or menstrual pain, as well as feverish conditions.
Who should not use it?
This medicine should not be used if you are experiencing any of the following conditions:
- If you have severe liver or kidney disease.
- If you have had a stomach or duodenal ulcer or bleeding or have had a perforation of the digestive tract.
- If you vomit blood.
- If you have black stools or bloody diarrhoea.
What does Doctril contain?
Each tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen (lysine) as the main active substance. The other excipients that make up the core of the product are: Polyvidone, microcrystalline cellulose and magnesium stearate. Methylhydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose and titanium dioxide are the ingredients used to coat the tablets.
