Suppositories for the symptomatic treatment of feverish conditions and for the relief of mild to moderate pain in children.

It is a medicine in the form of suppositories that is used in febrile processes and processes involving pain, especially when oral administration is difficult.
Children from 4 years of age and weighing 17 kg.
Introduce the suppository rectally. It should be kept as long as possible in the rectum for the therapeutic effect to be effective. If it is soft, you can put it in the refrigerator before use, to ensure its integrity, and that its application is more comfortable and effective. It should not be fragmented.
The recommended dose is 15 mg/kg every 6 hours or 10 mg/kg every 4 hours.
From 17 to 23 kg (4 to 7 years) 1 suppository every 6 hours. Max 4-5/day.
From 24 to 33 Kg (8 to 10 years) 1 suppository every 4-6 h.max 6 - 8/day.
From 33 Kg (over 10 years) 1-2 suppositories every 4-6 hours according to body weight.
The dose should be reduced by 25 % in case of renal insufficiency.
In alcoholics, special care should be taken, always the maximum possible dose 2 g/day.
It should not be administered if you are hypersensitive to paracetamol or any of the excipients, in hepatocellular disorders.
It should not be administered if there is a history of rectorrhagia, rectitis or anitis.
Special care should be taken in patients with chronic alcoholism, renal failure, heart failure, pulmonary disorders and anaemia, among others.
No problems have been reported in pregnant women, although a doctor should always be consulted before use.
No problems have been reported in breast-feeding, although a doctor should always be consulted before use, as maximum concentrations of 10-15 microlitres/ml in milk 2 hours after ingestion have been found.
A doctor should be consulted if you are taking medicines such as chloramphenicol, propranolol, probenecid, metoclopramide, domperidone, rifampicin, lamotrigine, isoniazid, among others, as the plasma levels of these or paracetamol may be affected, increasing or decreasing, causing toxicity or shielding the effect relatively.
Hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, anaphylactic shock), general malaise, agranulocytosis, thromobocytopenia, hypoglycaemia, increased transaminases, hepatotoxicity, cloudy urine, among others.
Each Apiretal Children's suppository contains 250 mg of paracetamol and solid semi-synthetic glycerides.
In case of fever or mild to moderate pain, insert a suppository rectally, as indicated in the table above.
In children the dose of 80 mg/kg per day should not be exceeded, and in adults the dose of 3 g per day should not be exceeded.
If fever persists for more than 2 or 3 consecutive days, treatment should be discontinued.
If pain persists for more than 5 days, treatment should be discontinued. In both cases, medical intervention and re-evaluation for treatment adjustment is required.
