Nurofen Rapid 400 mg, 10 Soft Capsules

Nurofen Rapid is an ibuprofen medicine in soft capsule form that works by reducing pain and fever. Nurofen Rapid is effective in relieving mild to moderate symptoms such as muscular pain such as back pain or contractures, headache, menstrual pain or dental pain.

It is intended for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

The dose in adults and over 12 years of age is as follows: take 1 capsule of 400 mg every 6-8 hours, if necessary. It is administered orally, with water, milk or meals if digestive discomfort is noted.

Do not use Nurofen Rapid:

• In children under 12 years of age.
• If you are allergic to ibuprofen, other NSAIDs or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
• If you vomit blood, if you have had an ulcer, stomach or duodenal bleeding or perforation of the digestive tract, kidney or liver disease, severe heart disease, bleeding in stools, in coagulation disorders in the third trimester of pregnancy.
• In case of allergy to peanuts or soya, as this medicine contains soya oil.

As with all medicines, Nurofen Rapid may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. In this case, the following have been observed:

• Frequent: stomach problems, such as heartburn, stomach pain and nausea.
• Rare: gastrointestinal ulcers, perforation or bleeding, inflammation of the membrane, gastritis, central nervous system disorders such as headache, dizziness, insomnia, agitation, irritability and tiredness, visual disturbances, various skin rashes, hypersensitivity reactions with hives and itching.
• Rare: tinnitus (ringing in the ears), increased urea concentration in the blood, flank and/or abdominal pain, blood in the urine and fever, may be signs of kidney damage (papillary necrosis), decreased haemoglobin levels.
• Very rare: oesophagitis, pancreatitis and formation of diaphragmatic intestinal strictures, heart failure, swelling (oedema) and cloudy urine (nephrotic syndrome), inflammatory kidney disease (interstitial nephritis) which may lead to acute renal failure. psychotic-type reactions, depression, high blood pressure, vasculitis, palpitations, liver dysfunction, problems in blood cell production, severe skin infections.

Each soft capsule of Nurofen Rapid contains 400 mg of ibuprofen as the active substance. The other ingredients are: polyethylene glycol (macrogol) 600, potassium hydroxide, purified water. Coating agents: gelatin, liquid sorbitol (E-420), cochineal red A (Ponceau 4R) (E-124), lecithin (E-322) (derived from soya), isopropanol, nitrogen, medium chain triglycerides, and medium chain triglycerides (E-322) (derived from soya).and printing ink containing hypromellose (E-464), titanium dioxide (E-171), propylene glycol (E-1520), isopropyl alcohol and purified water.

Nurofen Rapid is a fast-acting analgesic, very useful in mild to moderate pain and feverish processes. Take it during meals, if possible with milk to reduce possible gastric discomfort and avoid alcohol consumption.
