Apiretal 500 mg 12 orodispersible tablets

It is a medicine that is used in febrile processes and processes that involve pain thanks to its formula with paracetamol.

It comes in a pack of 12 orodispersible tablets.

Suitable for use in adults and children weighing 27 kg or more.

Take 1 Apiretal 500 mg orodispersible tablet directly into the mouth and crush before swallowing.

The recommended dose varies according to the age and weight of the patient, as follows:

- 33 to 40 kg (10-12 years): Administer 1 orodispersible tablet every 6 hours. Do not exceed the maximum dose of 4 tablets per day.

- From 41 to 49 kg (12 to 15 years). Give 1 tablet every 4-6 hours, not exceeding the maximum dose of 5 tablets per day.

- From 50 kg (over 15 years). Take 1 tablet every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 6 tablets per day.

Patients with renal insufficiency should consult a doctor before using this medicine.

With the exceptions described above, the maximum dose is 3 grams/day in adults and adolescents over 15 years of age and weighing more than 50 kg.

Do not use Apiretal 500 mg orodispersible tablets:

-In patients with hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any of the excipients present in the composition of this medicinal product.

-In patients with hepatocellular disorders or phenylketonuria.

-Special care in patients with chronic alcoholism, renal insufficiency, heart failure, pulmonary disorders and anaemia, among others.

-In pregnant women, although no problems have been reported, the doctor should be consulted before using this medicine.

-No problems have been reported in breast-feeding, although a doctor should always be consulted before use, as maximum concentrations of 10-15 microlitres/ml have been found in milk 2 hours after ingestion.

-Consult a doctor if you are taking medicines such as chloramphenicol, propranolol, probenecid, metoclopramide, domperidone, rifampicin, lamotrigine, isoniazid, among others, as the plasma levels of these or of paracetamide may increase.The plasma levels of these or of paracetamol could be affected, increasing or decreasing, causing toxicity or blunting the effect.

Apiretal 500 mg orodispersible may cause side effects, as with all medicines. In this case, the following have been observed:

-Hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, anaphylactic shock), general malaise, agranulocytosis, thromobocytopenia, hypoglycaemia, increased transaminases, hepatotoxicity, cloudy urine, among others.

Each orodispersible tablet of Apiretal contains 500 mg of paracetamol. The other excipients are: ethyl cellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, aspartame (E-951), colloidal silica, mannitol (E-421), talc, magnesium stearate, grape essence.

Other excipients include grape essence, talc, microcrystalline cellulose and crospovidone.

In case of fever or pain, you can take one or two tablets of Apiretal 500 mg orodispersible as indicated in the table above.

If the fever lasts longer than 2 or 3 consecutive days or the pain persists for more than 5 days, the treatment should be interrupted and a doctor should be consulted. In both cases, medical intervention and re-evaluation for treatment adjustment is required.
