What is Aspirin 500 mg tablets effervescent tablets and for what is used for?

It is a medicine in the form of effervescent tablets which is used for the treatment of symptoms involving pain such as sprains, muscle contractures , headache or menstrual pain , as well as in feverish states.

It comes in a convenient pack of 20 tablets.

Who is it for?

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 16 years of age.

Instructions for use

The appropriate dose of Aspirin 500 mg Effervescent Tablets is of 1 tablet every 4 hours, being the maximum dose 4000 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.

If the pain does not improve within 5 days, or the fever on 3, it is recommended to go to a doctor for a correct clinical assessment .

It requires adjustment of dosage in patients with renal impairment or hepatic .

Contraindications

Do not use Aspirin 500 mg Effervescent Tablets:

-In children under 16 years of age, due to possible occurrence of Reye's Syndrome.

-As a preventative for post-vaccination symptoms.

-If pregnant or breast-feeding.

Precautions

-Special care should be taken in patients with rhinitis allergic rhinitis , hypertension hypertension, deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, urticaria, hepatic dysfunction.

-In patients with surgical interventions dental or extractions of teeth , it is recommended to discontinue the treatment one week before.

-In patients who consume alcohol (beer, wine, ...), there is risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.

-If you are taking the following medicines, you should take special caution because of possible interactions: ibuprofen, cyclosporine, cimetidine and ranitidine, antidiabetics such as insulins or sulphonylureas, diuretics and antihypertensives.antihypertensives such as ACE inhibitors and ARBs, SSRIs, interferons, vancomycin, lithium, valproic acid, barbiturics, phenytoin, methotrexate, digoxin, among others.

Side effects

Aspirin 500 mg Effervescent Tablets may cause side effects, as is the case with all medicines on the market. Specifically, it has been observed:

  • Con frecuencia, suelen dar lugar a sangrado gingival, hematomas, sangrado digestivo, espasmo bronquial, rinitis, disnea grave, congestiónasal congestion, dyspepsia, vomiting, gastro-duodenal ulcers, Reye's syndrome in minors from 16 years old, among others.
  • I nfrequently , often leads to liver failure , inflammation gastrointestinal , although prolonged use may cause dizziness, headache, renal failure, deafness, among others.

Composition

Each effervescent tablet of Aspirin 500 mg contains 500 mg of acetyl salicylic acid as active ingredient. The other excipients are: Citrate of sodium, Hydrogencarbonate of sodium, Citric acid , Carbonate of sodium.
