It comes in a blister pack containing 20 film-coated tablets.
Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age or weighing more than 40 kg.
Take 1 tablet of Geloprofen every 6 to 8 hours if necessary, although it is advisable not to exceed 3 tablets a day. Do not take more than 3 tablets (1200 mg of ibuprofen) in 24 hours.
Do not use Geloprofen tablets:
- In children under 12 years of age.
- In case of allergy to ibuprofen or to any of the ingredients.
- If you suffer from blood clotting disorders or bleeding.
- If you have suffered from bronchospasm, asthma, urticaria after taking other NSAIDs, acetylsalicylic acid or similar.
- If you have or have had stomach or oesophageal ulcers, if you suffer from severe liver, kidney or heart disease.
- If you are in the third trimester of pregnancy.
- Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine.
- Pregnancy and lactation: you should consult your doctor. Contraindicated in the third trimester.
- It is advisable to take this medicine with meals or milk to avoid gastric discomfort.
- This medicine contains sucrose and glucose (special care in diabetic patients), sodium (special care in hypertensive patients), cyclodextrins (betadex E459) and tartrazine (E-102), which may cause allergic reactions.
Like all medicines, Geloprofen tablets may cause side effects, but this does not mean that all people will experience side effects.
In this case, the following common side effects have been observed: fatigue or drowsiness, headaches, nausea, vomiting, constipation, digestive problems, blood in stools, blood in vomit, high blood pressure, dizziness, skin rash.
The active substance in Geloprofen is ibuprofen. Each tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen. The other excipients in the tablet core are: croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, maize starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate and purified water. Coating agents: hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E-171), purified talc, purified water and propylene glycol (E-1520).
If you suffer from muscle pain, pain due to contracture, sprained ankle, inflammatory or dental conditions, take 1 tablet of Geloprofen every 6 to 8 hours, without exceeding the maximum daily amount indicated. It can also be used for the treatment of fever at the same dose.
