What is Enandol and what is it used for?

Enandol is an anti-inflammatory and analgesic medicine belonging to the group of so-called NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).

Enandol tablets are used in adults for the short-term symptomatic treatment of acute pain of mild to moderate intensity, such as muscle, joint, menstrual or dental pain.

Who can take Enandol?

Enandol 25 mg is suitable for use in adults over 18 years of age.

How to take Enandol

In adults, take 1 Enandol tablet (equivalent to 25 mg dexketoprofen) with a glass of water.

How often should Enandol be taken? The required dose of the medicine may vary depending on the type, intensity and duration of the pain. Generally, the recommended dose is 1 Enandol 25 mg tablet every 8 hours, not exceeding 3 tablets a day (75 mg).

In elderly patients, patients with renal or hepatic problems, it is recommended to start treatment with Enandol with a maximum of 2 tablets per day (50 mg dexketoprofen).

Contraindications

Do not use Enandol 25 mg:

  • In children under 18 years of age.
  • In case of allergy todexketoprofen, acetylsalicylic acid or any of the excipients present in the composition of this medicine or to any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
  • If you have asthma or have had asthma attacks, acute allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, urticaria, angioedema or wheezing in the chest after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • If you have suffered photoallergic or phototoxic reactions while taking ketoprofen or fibrates, peptic ulcer, stomach or intestinal bleeding, if you have suffered in the past from bleeding, ulceration or perforation of the stomach or intestine.
  • If you have chronic digestive problems.
  • If you have had stomach or intestinal bleeding or perforation in the past, due to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
  • If you have chronic inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
  • If you have severe heart failure, moderate to severe kidney failure or severe liver failure.
  • If you have bleeding disorders or blood clotting disorders.
  • If you are severely dehydrated due to vomiting, diarrhoea or insufficient fluid intake.
  • If you are in the third trimester of pregnancy or breast-feeding.

Side effects of Enandol

As with all medicines on the market, Enandol 25 mg may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. In this case, the following have been observed:

  • Frequent: nausea and/or vomiting, mainly pain in the upper abdominal quadrant, diarrhoea, digestive disorders (dyspepsia).
  • Infrequent:rotating sensation (vertigo), dizziness, drowsiness, sleep disturbances, nervousness, headache, palpitations, hot flushes, inflammation of the stomach wall (gastritis), stomach pain (gastritis).mago (gastritis), constipation, dry mouth, flatulence, skin rash, fatigue, pain, feverishness and chills, malaise.
  • Rare:peptic ulcer, peptic ulcer perforation or bleeding (which may manifest with vomiting of blood or black stools), fainting, elevated blood pressure, slow breathing, blood retention, and other symptoms.(e.g., swelling of the ankles), laryngeal oedema, loss of appetite (e.g., loss of appetite, loss of appetite, loss of appetite, loss of appetite, loss of appetite, loss of appetite).loss of appetite (anorexia), abnormal sensation, itchy rash, acne, increased sweating, lower back pain, frequent urination, menstrual disturbances, prostatic disturbances, liver function tests, liver function tests, kidney function tests.abnormal liver function tests (blood tests), liver cell damage (hepatitis), acute renal failure.

Compositio n

The active substance in Enandol is dexketoprofen (as dexketoprofen tromethamol). Specifically, each Enandol tablet contains 25 mg of dexketoprofen. The other excipients in the core are: maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch (Type A) (potato starch), glyceroldistearate.Tablet coating: dry lacquer consisting of: hypromellose, titanium dioxide and macrogol 6000, and propylene glycol (E-1520).

Pharmaceutical advice

The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms.
