Efferalgan Pain Relief 20 Effervescent Tablets

Formerly called Efferalgan, it is a medicine formulated with paracetamol, an active ingredient that effectively helps to reduce both fever and occasional mild to moderate pain.

It is intended for use in adults and children aged 6 years and older seeking treatment for fever or pain.

Do not use Efferalgan 500 mg:

• In children under 6 years of age.
• In case of allergy or hypersensitivity to paracetamol or to any of the ingredients present in this medicine.

Dissolve one Efferalgan 500 mg effervescent tablet in a glass of water. The recommended dose varies according to the age of the patient:

• In adults: 1 tablet every 4-6 hours. Two tablets (1 g of paracetamol) may be taken every 6-8 hours if necessary, without exceeding the maximum dose of 8 tablets daily.
• Adults with kidney disease: 1 tablet every 6-8 hours, not exceeding 6 tablets daily.
• Children from 12 years of age: 1 tablet every 4-6 hours, maximum 5 tablets daily.
• Children aged 6 to 11 years: half a tablet (250 mg) every 4-6 hours, not exceeding the maximum dose of 5 doses in 24 hours (2 tablets and a half).

Efferalgan 500 may cause side effects, as with all medicines. This does not mean that all people will experience them. In particular, the following have been observed:

• Rare: hypotension, malaise, increased blood transaminase levels.
• Very rare: allergic dermatitis, jaundice, cloudy urine, kidney disease, blood disorders, hypoglycaemia.

Each Efferaldol effervescent tablet contains 500 mg paracetamol as the main active substance. The other excipients are: citric acid anhydrous, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate anhydrous, sorbitol, docusate sodium, polyvidone, saccharin sodium, sodium benzoate.

Efferalgan 500 mg is an analgesic and antipyretic medicine, effective in controlling mild to moderate pain and episodes of fever in both adults and children over six years of age.

Its effervescent tablets are presented in aluminium blister packs and as they are slotted they can be easily broken in half if necessary. You should allow the tablet to dissolve completely in water and you can take it with food as it does not interfere with the effectiveness of the medicine.
