What is Dolovanz Forte and what is it used for?

It is a medicine known as Dexketoprofen, which belongs to the group of anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

What is Dexketoprofen used for? It is used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of acute pain of mild to moderate intensity, such as muscle or joint pain such as back pain, sprains and acute trauma, as well as menstrual pain or dental pain in adults.

It comes in a pack of 15 film-coated tablets.

Who it is intended for

The medicine is intended for adults over 18 years of age.

Instructions for use

You can take Dolovanz Forte 25 Mg (dexketoprofen) depending on the type, intensity and duration of the pain.

It is recommended to take the lowest dose and in the shortest period of time. Seek medical advice if symptoms of pain and fever persist or become more severe.

Do not take more than the recommended dose if you have forgotten to take it previously.

Adults over 18 years of age

In general, the recommended dose is 1 tablet (25 mg dexketoprofen) every 8 hours, not exceeding 3 tablets a day (75 mg).

Contraindications

Do not use Dolovanz Forte 25 Mg:

  • Children under 18 years of age.
  • People allergic to Dexketoprofen tromethamol, acetylsalicylic acid or other components of this product.
  • In case of asthma, a period of inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nose (allergic rhinitis) or fleshy formations inside the nose due to allergy (nasal polyps), skin rash, swelling of the tongue, lips, face or shortness of breath (angioedema), or high-pitched sounds (wheezing in the chest).
  • In those who suffer or have suffered from reddening of skin burns on exposure to sunlight (phototoxic or photoallergic reactions while taking dexketoprofen or blood fat lowering medicines.
  • Those who have a peptic ulcer, stomach or intestinal bleeding or if you have had an ulceration, perforation or bleeding in the stomach or intestine.
  • People with chronic digestion problems.
  • People with chronic inflammation of the intestine.
  • People with heart failure, liver failure or kidney failure.
  • People who have bleeding problems or problems with blood clotting.
  • If you are severely dehydrated.
  • In women from the third trimester of pregnancy or breast-feeding.

Side effects

As with all medicines, Dolovanz Forte 25 mg film-coated tablets may have side effects. These can be divided into the following:

  • Common side effects: Nausea and/or vomiting, mainly pain in the upper quadrant of the abdomen, diarrhoea, digestive disorders (dyspepsia).
  • Rare adverse effects: Rotatory sensation (vertigo), dizziness, drowsiness, sleep disturbances, nervousness, headache, palpitations, hot flushes, inflammation of the stomach wall (gastritis), stomach wall inflammation (gastritis).mago wall inflammation (gastritis), constipation, dry mouth, flatulence, skin rash, fatigue, pain, fever and chills, malaise.

Precautions and warnings

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before you start taking DOLOVANZ FORTE:

  • If you are allergic or have had allergy problems in the past;
  • If you have kidney, liver or heart disease (hypertension and/or heart failure), or fluid retention or have suffered from any of these conditions in the past;
  • If you are taking diuretics or have insufficient hydration and reduced blood volume due to excessive fluid loss (e.g. from excessive urination, diarrhoea or vomiting);
  • If you have heart problems, a history of stroke, or think you may be at risk for these conditions (for example, you have high blood pressure, have diabetes, have increased cholesterol, or are a smoker) you should discuss this treatment with your doctor or pharmacist. Medicines such as DOLOVANZ FORTE may be associated with a small increased risk of heart attacks ("heart attacks") or strokes ("stroke"). This risk is more likely to occur when high doses and prolonged treatment are used. Do not exceed the recommended dose and duration of treatment;
  • If you are an elderly patient, you may experience a higher incidence of side effects.

If these occur, consult your doctor immediately;

  • If you are a woman with fertility problems ("Pregnancy, lactation and fertility");
  • If you have a blood and blood cell production disorder;
  • If you have systemic lupus erythematosus or mixed connective tissue disease (diseases of the immune system that affect connective tissue);
  • If you have or have had in the past chronic inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease);
  • If you suffer or have suffered in the past from stomach or intestinal disorders;
  • If you have an infection.
  • If you are taking other medicines that increase the risk of peptic ulcer or bleeding, e.g. oral corticosteroids, some antidepressants (SSRIs, Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors), some antidepressants (SSRIs, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), some medicines that increase the risk of peptic ulcer or bleeding.n), agents that prevent the formation of blood clots such as aspirin or anticoagulants such as warfarin. In these cases, consult your doctor before taking dexketoprofen: your doctor may prescribe an additional medicine to protect your stomach (e.g. misoprostol or other medicines that block the production of gastric acid);
  • If you suffer from asthma, combined with chronic rhinitis or sinusitis, and/or nasal polyps as you have a higher risk of allergy to aspirin and/or NSAIDs than the rest of the population. Administration of this medicinal product may provoke asthma attacks or bronchospasm, particularly in patients allergic to acetylsalicylic acid or NSAIDs.

Composition

The active substance is dexketoprofen tromethamol. Each film-coated tablet of Dolovanz Forte 25 mg film-coated tablet contains 36.9 mg dexketoprofen tromethamol equivalent to 25 mg dexketoprofen.The other ingredients are as follows: Core: maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch type A (potato) and glycerol distearate, Coating: hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E-171) and macrogol.

Pharmaceutical advice

It is recommended to take the medicine with meals to reduce the possibility of stomach upset.

The use of NSAIDs in combination with alcohol may worsen adverse reactions caused by the active substance.
