It is an emollient and protective medicine whose formula combines zinc oxide with starch. The result is an antiseptic ointment that absorbs moisture and has a slight healing effect.
It is designed for the protection and temporary relief of mild irritation of the skin, such as minor burns, intertrigo, sunburn, etc.
Suitable for use by adults and children of all ages.
Apply a thin layer on the area to be treated, previously clean and dry, 1 to 2 times a day.
Do not use Cusi Ointment:
In case of allergy to zinc oxide, corn starch, or any of the excipients present in the formula of this medicine.
If you have an infection in the area to be treated.
On eyes, ears and other mucous membranes.
For a prolonged period of time or on very large areas of the skin.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, unless prescribed by a doctor.
Cusi ointment may cause side effects, as with all medicines. This does not mean that everyone will suffer from them. In this case, the possible reactions that have been observed are allergic (irritation, itching or stinging), although dry skin or inflammatory lesions may also appear.
If any of these or other adverse effects occur, discontinue treatment immediately and wash the affected area with water.
Each gram of Cusi ointment contains 250 mg of zinc oxide and 250 mg of corn starch as active ingredients. The other excipients are: lanolin, filmy petroleum jelly and liquid petroleum jelly.
This is a medicine that we should always have in our medicine cabinet for the treatment of minor burns. As it has a pasty texture, special care should be taken when using it, so as not to stain clothes. To avoid this, the area can be covered with gauze after application.
