What is Ibuprofen Infantil Forte?

Ibufen Infantil Forte contains ibuprofen as its active ingredient and belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Uses and Benefits of Ibuprofen for Children Forte

This medicine is used in children from 3 months of age, adolescents and adults for the symptomatic relief of occasional mild to moderate pain and fever.

Who can use Ibufén Infantil Forte?

Children from 3 months of age, adolescents and adults.

How to use Ibufén Infantil Forte: Instructions for use

General Instructions for Use

For occasional use only and for limited periods. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest time necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, consult a doctor without delay if symptoms (such as fever and pain) persist or worsen (see section 2). The administration of the medicinal product is dependent on the onset of pain or fever. As these disappear, the medication should be discontinued.

Dosage for Adults and Adolescents over 12 years of age

The recommended dose is 5-10 ml (200-400 mg of ibuprofen) at intervals of not less than 4 hours, if necessary and as long as symptoms persist, not to exceed 1200 mg of ibuprofen in a 24-hour period. The maximum dose per dose should not exceed 400 mg of ibuprofen. More than 400 mg in a single dose does not provide better analgesic effect. The interval between doses will depend on the evolution of the symptoms, but should never be less than 4 hours.

In adults and adolescents, a doctor should be consulted if use of this medicine is required for more than 3 days in case of fever or 5 days in case of pain or if symptoms worsen.

Dosage for Children 3 Months to 12 Years of Age

The recommended dose of ibuprofen depends on the age and weight of the child. As a general rule, for children from 3 months to 12 years of age, the recommended daily dose is 20 to 30 mg per kg of body weight depending on the intensity of the symptoms and divided into three doses. The use of this medicine in children under 2 years of age should always be prescribed by a doctor.

As a guideline, the doses in the following table can be followed:
