Antidol is a medicine whose active ingredient is paracetamol. It is indicated for the relief of fever and pain, such as muscle, dental or back pain, among others.

It is indicated for adults and children over 10 years of age (weighing more than 33 kg).
It is a medicine to be taken orally. Each sachet should be dissolved in water, pouring the entire contents of the sachet into each mouthful.
For adults and adolescents over 15 years of age, or weighing 50 kg, it is recommended to take 1 sachet of 500 mg every 4 to 6 hours. If necessary, it is possible to take up to 2 sachets every 8 hours. This dose should not be exceeded. In other words, it is not advisable to take more than 6 sachets in 24 hours. And they should be taken at least 4 hours apart.
As the symptoms reduce or disappear, the treatment can be discontinued. It is preferable to always take the lowest effective dose.
In the case of patients with kidney disease, it is preferable to consult your doctor before taking it. The dose per dose will have to be limited. The same applies to patients with liver disease.
In the case of small children, it is advisable to follow the dosage according to weight:
Children weighing between 33 kg and 42 kg (approx. 10 to 12 years): 1 sachet per dose, every 6 hours, up to a maximum of 4 sachets per day.
Children weighing between 42 kg and 50 kg (approx. 12 to 14 years): 1 sachet per dose, every 4-6 hours according to need, up to a maximum of 5 sachets per day.
If you are allergic to paracetamol or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Rare side effects that may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people are: malaise, low blood pressure (hypotension) and increased levels of transaminases in the blood.
Very rare side effects that may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people are: Kidney disease, cloudy urine, allergic dermatitis (skin rash), jaundice (yellowing of the skin), blood disorders (agranulocytosis), and other serious side effects.(agranulocytosis, leukopenia, neutropenia, haemolytic anaemia) and hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) and severe skin reactions.
Paracetamol can damage the liver when taken in high doses or in prolonged treatment.
Do not take more of the medicine than recommended in section 3. How to take Antidol.
Concomitant use of this medicine with other medicines containing paracetamol, e.g. cold and flu medicines, should be avoided, as high doses may result in liver damage. Do not use more than one medicine containing paracetamol without consulting a doctor.
Chronic alcoholics should be careful not to take more than 2 g/in 24 hours of paracetamol.
Patients with kidney, liver, heart or lung disease and patients with anaemia (decrease in haemoglobin level in the blood, whether or not due to a decrease in red blood cells) should not take paracetamol.Patients with kidney, liver, heart or lung disease and patients with anaemia (decreased haemoglobin levels in the blood, whether or not caused by a decrease in red blood cells), or patients suffering from chronic malnutrition or dehydration, should consult a doctor before taking this medicine.
When being treated with a medicine to treat epilepsy, a doctor should be consulted before taking this medicine, because when used at the same time, the efficacy is decreased and the hepatotoxicity of paracetamol is enhanced, especially in treatments with high doses of paracetamol.
Asthmatic patients sensitive to acetylsalicylic acid should consult a doctor before taking this medicine.
In children under 10-12 years of age, consult your doctor or pharmacist, as other dosage forms may be available to suit these patients.
The active substance is paracetamol. Each sachet contains 500 mg paracetamol.
The other ingredients are: macrogol 400, glycerol (E-422), saccharin sodium, strawberry flavouring, raspberry flavouring (contains propylene glycol (E-1520)), flavour masking agent (contains potato maltodextrin), azorubin (E-122) and purified water.
Do not take for more than 3 days in a row in children without medical supervision. Do not give it to children weighing less than 33 kg, for which there are other more suitable presentations such as syrups for which the exact dosage can be calculated for this weight.
It is also advisable to be cautious during the period you are taking this medicine, as it could be harmful to the liver. Also do not mix with alcohol.
If this medicine is taken for sore throat, it should not be taken for more than 2 days in a row. If the pain does not go away, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
