It is a cream medicine formulated with acyclovir, an active ingredient with antiviral properties that acts against the herpes simplex virus. Its formula treats and relieves the symptoms related to cold sores, such as itching and stinging.
Intended for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age who suffer from cold sores.
Wash your hands beforehand and apply a small amount of cream to the affected area of the lip. Repeat the process every 4 hours, without exceeding the maximum dose of 5 applications per day. Wash hands again to avoid contagion.
The use of this medicine should be maintained for at least 4 days, up to a maximum of 10 days.
Do not use Zovicrem lip balm
- If you are under 12 years of age.
- If you are allergic to acyclovir, valacyclovir or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- Inside the mouth, nose or vagina. This medicine is not suitable for the treatment of genital herpes.
Zovicrem labial may cause side effects, as with all medicines, but this does not mean that everyone will experience side effects. In this case, such effects are rare or infrequent, and include:
- Uncommon: itching, dryness, scaling, burning.
- Rare: contact dermatitis, redness.
- Very rare: allergic reactions, which may include angioedema.
Each gram of Zovicrem lip cream contains 50 mg of acyclovir as the main active ingredient. The other excipients are: poloxamer 407, cetostearyl alcohol, sodium lauryl sulphate, soft white paraffin, dimethicone, arlacel 165 (macrogol stearate 100 and glycerol monostearate), liquid paraffin, propylene glycol and purified water.
Zovicrem lip balm is a medicine formulated with acyclovir, an antiviral that fights herpes zoster, which is responsible for herpes commonly known as fever blisters, the symptoms of which are burning and itching.
It is recommended to use the product every 4 hours, applying a thin layer of cream on the lesion and avoiding intense sun exposure.
