Viruderm Ointment 2 g

It is a medicated cream formulated with acyclovir for an antiviral action indicated for the treatment of symptoms related to cold sores, including itching, stinging or tingling.

It comes in a handy 2g pack.

For use in people aged 12 years and over seeking relief from the symptoms of cold sores or fever blisters.

Start administering as soon as the first symptoms appear, applying it exclusively to the cold sore, avoiding the mucosal area. Continue treatment for about 5 days, which may be extended for up to 10 days.

Apply 5 times a day, covering the affected area of the lip with a thin layer of product. Repeat the process approximately every 4 hours.

It is important to wash hands after each application to prevent the lesion from spreading to other areas of the body or infecting other people.

Do not use Viruderm:

• In children under 12 years of age.

• In case of allergy to acyclovir or to any of the ingredients present in this product.

Viruderm may cause side effects, as with all other medicines, which may include:

• Infrequent: temporary burning or itching, slight dryness, scaling, itching.

• Rare: reddening of the skin, contact dermatitis.

• Very rare: immediate hypersensitivity reactions including angioedema (inflammatory process of the deep area of the skin that manifests itself with swelling of the throat or difficulty in swallowing or breathing).

Each gram of Viruderm ointment contains 50 mg of acyclovir as the active substance. The other excipients are: macrogol 4000 and macrogol 400.
