Novidol 50Mg/Ml Cutaneous Spray Solution, 50 ml

Novidol is in the form of a solution to be sprayed on the skin.

This medicine contains ibuprofen, which belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for topical use.

This medicine is used in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age for the local relief of pain and mild and occasional inflammation caused by: minor bruises, bumps, strains, sprains, torticollis or other contractures, back pain (lumbago) or minor sprains resulting from a strain.

The recommended dose in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age is one application (1 to 3 seconds), 3 or 4 times a day.

This is a medicinal product for external cutaneous use only (on the skin).To facilitate penetration, apply the solution with a light, prolonged massage to the painful or inflamed area.

Wash hands thoroughly after each use, provided they are not the area to be treated.

Do not use Novidol if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy. Novidol should not be used during the first 6 months of pregnancy unless clearly necessary and advised by your doctor. If treatment is needed during this period, the lowest dose should be used for the shortest possible time.

Itching (pruritus), redness of the skin (localised erythema), inflammation of the skin (dermatitis), local irritation, at the site of application which disappear when treatment is discontinued, dermatitis (inflammation of the skin) caused by the sun.

• This medicine should only be applied to intact skin.
• Contact with mucous membranes (nose, mouth) and eyes should be avoided.
• Treated areas should not be exposed to the sun (even in cloudy weather) or to ultraviolet (UVA) lamps.
• Hands should be washed after each application, as long as it is not the area to be treated.
• Do not use tight bandages, nor apply heat to the area where it is used. In case of covering the area where you have used this medicine, do it in such a way that the garment covering the treated area is slightly loose.
• Do not use on large areas of skin.
• If symptoms persist more than 7 days (5 days in case of adolescents) of treatment or if irritation or worsening occurs, consult your doctor.
• In case of frequent use by a health care professional, the use of gloves is recommended.
• Novidol should not be applied simultaneously to the same area of skin where other medicines have been applied.

The active substance is ibuprofen. Each millilitre of solution contains 50 mg of ibuprofen.

The other ingredients (excipients) are: isopropyl alcohol, benzyl alcohol (E1519), propylene glycol (E1520), sodium hydroxide and purified water. Propellant: nitrogen gas.

Treatment is limited to a maximum of 7 days (5 days in adolescents).
