It is a gel medicine formulated with piketoprofen, an active ingredient belonging to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), used for the local symptomatic relief of muscular and joint pain, such as contractures, lumbago, torticollis, small contusions, bruises, sprains and strains.
It comes in a tube containing 60 g of gel.
Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Apply a small amount of gel to the painful or inflamed area and massage until absorbed. Can be used up to 3 times a day.
It is recommended to apply the last application of the day before going to bed.
Do not use Calmatel Gel:
In children under 12 years of age.
If you are allergic to any of its components.
If salicylic acid or any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug causes rhinitis, asthma or angioedema.
During pregnancy and breast-feeding without first consulting a doctor.
Calmatel Gel may cause side effects, as with all medicines. Common side effects include: redness, itching, burning sensation and heat at the site of application, eczema, contact dermatitis and photosensitivity reactions (increased sensitivity to sunlight).
The active ingredients of Calmatel Gel are piketoprofen. Each gram of gel contains 18 mg of piketoprofen. The other ingredients are hydroxypropylcellulose (E-463), propylene glycol (E-1520), lavender essence and ethanol.
This is a widely used medicine for the treatment of localised pain in the form of a clear or slightly yellow gel with a lavender odour.
Do not exceed 3 or 4 applications per day. If symptoms do not improve for 7 days or worsen, you should consult your doctor.
