It is a medicine in the form of a gingival spray intended for the local relief of dental and oral mucosal pain.
Suitable for use in adults and children from 6 years of age.
Apply 3 to 4 times a day. To do so, press the valve for half a second on the area to be anaesthetised, or soak a cotton wool pad and keep applied to the area for several minutes.
Do not use Hurricaine Spray:
In children under 6 years of age.
In patients with asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, haemoglobin-M disease, ADH deficiency and Pyruvate Kinase.
If concomitant treatment with sulphonamides, hyaluronidase, cholinesterase inhibitors.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Like all medicines, Hurricaine Spray may cause side effects. In particular, the following have been observed: contact dermatitis, dysgeusia, burning sensation, blood and lymphatic system disorders.
Hurricaine Spray contains 200 mg of benzocaine as the active substance. The other excipients are: Polyethylene glycol 400, Saccharin sodium, Cherry flavouring (Aroma, Ethanol and Water).
This treatment should not be used before eating or drinking, it may cause coughing during eating and choking sensation. Do not eat while the numbness continues, to avoid choking or biting of the tongue.
It is important to wash hands after each application.
If during application, the patient experiences headache, dizziness, shallow breathing, nausea, fatigue or tachycardia, a doctor should be consulted.
Treatment with this medicine should be as short as possible. If after 2 days the patient does not improve or gets worse, seek medical advice.
