Garydol Forte 5 mg/5 mg, 20 Sucking Tablets

This medicine has a dual effect thanks to the action of its ingredients: on the one hand, the antiseptic and disinfectant action of cloherxidine and, on the other, the anaesthetic action of benzocaine.

Its use is indicated for the temporary and symptomatic relief of infections of the mouth and throat, such as canker sores, irritation and aphonia.

It comes in a pack of 20 sucking tablets.

Suitable for use in adults and children over 6 years of age.

Take 1 tablet every 2 or 3 hours and no more than 8 a day.

Do not use Garydol Forte tablets:

• In children under 6 years of age, as they are more sensitive to the use of benzocaine, as is the case with those over 65 years of age, not only because of sensitivity but also because it may cause hypertension.

• In case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the components present in the composition of this medicinal product.

• During pregnancy and lactation, without first consulting a doctor.

Like all medicines, Garydol Forte may cause side effects:

• Frequent adverse reactions: irritation of the mouth or tip of the tongue, allergic reactions due to the use of chlorhexidine or benzocaine.

• Very frequent adverse reactions: Oedema (due to fluid retention), hypertension, discolouration of teeth may occur (this is temporary and is removed by cleaning) and altered taste may occur.

• Cases of methaemoglobinaemia due to benzocaine have been reported, the symptoms of which are dizziness, difficulty in breathing, cyanosis (bluish discolouration of mucous membranes and skin), altered mental state, dizziness, etc.

Each Garydol Forte lozenge contains 5 mg of chlorhexidine dichloride and 5 mg of benzocaine as active ingredients. The other ingredients are: mannitol (E-421), microcrystalline cellulose (E-460), povidone, magnesium stearate, sodium cyclamate, saccharin sodium (E-954), menthol flavouring and orange flavouring.

Garydol Forte is a lozenge with orange flavour. To take, slowly dissolve the tablet in your mouth without chewing or swallowing. Avoid eating and drinking immediately after taking this medicine.

Take the minimum number of tablets to relieve symptoms in as few days as possible.
