Gelocatil Pediatric Oral Solution Bottle 100 mg/ml 60 ml

It is a medicine that belongs to the group of medicines called analgesics and antipyretics. It is used to treat symptoms of fever and occasional mild to moderate pain in children.

It comes in a convenient pack containing 100 ml of oral suspension.

Specially formulated for the paediatric population, specifically children aged 0-10 years (up to 32 kg).

The recommended dosage of Gelocatil Pediatrics varies according to the weight of the child. Specifically, the daily dose of paracetamol is approximately 60mg/kg/day, divided into 4 daily doses of 15mg/kg or 6 doses of 10mg/kg every 4 hours.

Do not use Gelocatil Paediatric:

• In children over 10 years of age, for whom there are other more suitable formats.
• In case of allergy to paracetamol, propacetamol hydrochloride or any of the ingredients.
• If you have severe liver disease.
• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding and have not previously consulted a doctor.

As with all medicines, Gelocatil Paediatric may cause side effects, but this does not mean that everybody will suffer from them. In this case, the following have been observed:

- Rare: malaise, low blood pressure (hypotension), and increased blood transaminase levels.

- Very rare: kidney disease, cloudy urine, allergic dermatitis (skin rash), jaundice (yellowing of the skin).(yellowing of the skin), blood disorders (agranulocytosis, leukopenia, neutropenia, haemolytic anaemia) and hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar).

Each millilitre of Gelocatil Paediatric suspension contains 100 mg of paracetamol as the active substance. The other excipients are: saccharin sodium, propylene glycol, macrogol, glycerol (E-422), sorbitol (E-420), methyl p-hydroxybenzoate and propyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E-218 and E-216), amaranth (E-123), strawberry and raspberry essence, citric acid, purified water.

Do not take paracetamol in high doses or for prolonged treatment as it may cause liver damage.
