What is DIFENADEX CAPSULES and what is it used for?


It is a medicine used for the relief and symptomatic treatment of musculoskeletal pain, such as headaches, menstruation or dental pain, among others.
It comes in a pack of 10 capsules.

Composition of difenadex capsules
Each capsule contains 25 mg dexketoprofen as dexketoprofen trometamol.
- Excipients: Pregelatinised maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, potato sodium carboxymethyl starch (Type A) and glycerol distearate.
- Composition of the capsule (body and cap): Gelatin, titanium dioxide (E171), quinoline yellow (E104) and patent blue V (E131).

Directions for use


The dose is 25 mg every 8 hours, i.e. 3 capsules per day, the maximum possible dose of dexketoprofen being 75 mg per day.
In patients with hepatic insufficiency, the daily dose is 50 mg.
In patients with mild renal insufficiency, the daily dose is 50 mg. On the other hand, if renal insufficiency is severe, dexketoprofen is not recommended.

Contraindications

Do not use Difenadex:
- In children under 18 years of age.
- In patients who have had asthma attacks, bronchospasm or acute rhinitis.
- With concomitant intake of medicines such as NSAIDs or salicylic acid derivatives.
- In patients who have suffered gastrointestinal bleeding due to NSAID use, or who have an active ulcer, patients with chronic dyspepsia.
- In patients with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.
- In patients with severe cardiac, renal or hepatic insufficiency.


Side effects
Difenadex may cause side effects, as with all medicines on the market. In this case, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal pain occur quite frequently. In addition, although not as frequent, unwanted side effects of the medication may occur, such as oedema, anorexia, paraesthesia, syncope, hot flushes, bronchospasm, pancreatitis, tachycardia, hypotension, gastritis and dry mouth, among others.

If you have any kind of joint or muscle pain, headache or the typical menstrual pain that many patients suffer from on a monthly basis, take 1 or several capsules of this medicine a day.
Use it on an ad hoc basis and as long as there are truly acute symptoms that justify it.
To facilitate absorption, it can be taken on an empty stomach 15 minutes before meals, directly into the mouth or diluted in a glass of water.
