It is a medicine in the form of a spray formulated with piketoprofen, an active ingredient belonging to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), used for the local symptomatic relief of muscular and joint pain, such as contractures, lumbago, torticollis, small contusions, blows, sprains and strains.
It comes in a 60 ml spray tube.
Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Spray 1 spray on the painful or inflamed area and massage until absorbed. Can be used up to 3 times a day.
The last application of the day is recommended before going to bed.
Contraindications
In children under 12 years of age.
If you are allergic to any of its components.
If salicylic acid or any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug causes rhinitis, asthma or angioedema.
During pregnancy and breast-feeding without first consulting a doctor.
Calmatel Spray may cause side effects, as with all medicines. Common side effects include: redness, itching, burning sensation and heat at the site of application, eczema, contact dermatitis and photosensitivity reactions (increased sensitivity to sunlight).
The active substance in Calmatel Spray is piketoprofen, each 50 g bottle contains 2 g piketoprofen. The other excipientsare: Excipients (camphor, benzyl alcohol (E-1519), methyl salicylate, isopropyl myristate, lavender essence, isopropanol); Propellant (carbon dioxide (E-290)).
This is a widely used medicine for the treatment of localised pain in the form of an aerosol with a slightly yellowish solution and a characteristic odour.
Do not exceed 3 or 4 applications per day. If symptoms do not improve for 7 days or worsen, you should consult your doctor.
