It is a medicine in cream form formulated with piketoprofen, an active ingredient belonging to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which is used for the local symptomatic relief of muscular and joint pain, such as contractures, lumbago, torticollis, small contusions, bruises, sprains and strains.
It comes in a practical 60g tube pack.
Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Apply a small amount of cream to the painful or inflamed area and massage until absorbed. Can be used up to 3 times a day.
It is advisable to apply the last application of the day before going to bed.
Do not use Calmatel Cream:
In children under 12 years of age.
If you are allergic to any of its components.
If salicylic acid or any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug causes rhinitis, asthma or angioedema.
During pregnancy and breast-feeding without first consulting a doctor.
Like all medicines, Calmatel Cream may cause side effects:
Common adverse reactions: redness, itching, burning sensation and heat at the application site, eczema, contact dermatitis and photosensitivity reactions (increased sensitivity to sunlight).
The active ingredients of Calmatel Cream are piketoprofen. Each gram of gel contains 18 mg of piketoprofen. The other ingredients are: benzyl benzoate, lauric-myristic alcohol, cetyl alcohol, polysorbate 20 (E-432), sorbitan monolaurate (E-493), polyoxyethylene ketostearyl alcohol, diethanolamine, polyhexamethylenebiguanide hydrochloride and purified water.
This medicinal product is in the form of a white, unscented cream, which is used for the treatment of localised pain.
Do not exceed 3 applications per day. If symptoms do not improve for 7 days or worsen, you should consult your doctor.
