What is Actromagel and what is it for?

Actromagel isa topical medicine for the symptomatic relief of muscular and joint pain such as contractures, lumbago, torticollis, minor bruises, bruises, sprains and strains.

It contains ethophenamate, an active ingredient that belongs to the group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Who it is intended for

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.

Howto use

Apply 1.5 to 2 grams of Actromagel to the painful or inflamed area 3 times a day. It is advisable toapply the last application of the day before going to bed.

Contraindication s

Do not use Actromagel:

• In children under 12 years of age.
• In case of allergy to any of its components, or ifsalicylicacid or any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug causes rhinitis, asthma or angioedema.

Precautions

• Pregnancy and lactation: consult your doctor.
• This medicine contains alcohol and may cause burning of injured skin.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Actromagel etofenamate may cause side effects. This does not mean that all patients will experience side effects. In this case, the following common adverse reactions have been observed: redness, itching, burning sensation and heat at the application site, eczema, contact dermatitis and photosensitivityreactions (increased sensitivity to sunlight).

Composition

The active substance in Actromagel is ethophenamate. Specifically, each gram of gel contains 50 mg of etofenamate. The other excipients are: isopropylalcohol , 96 per cent ethanol, carbomer, trolamine and purified water.
