It is a solution formulated with minoxidil that is used on the scalp to stimulate hair growth in individuals with androgenic alopecia, which is the most common type of alopecia.
It is intended for adults over the age of 18 and under the age of 65 who have problems with thinning hair or hair loss.
It can also be used in women, although always under medical indication.
The recommended dosage is 1 ml every 12 hours, which should not be exceeded.
The dosage syringe or the sprayer included in the medicine can be used. It should be borne in mind that 10 sprays are equivalent to 1 ml and that it should always be applied to dry hair, massaging gently from the inside out.
Hand washing is recommended both before and after application, taking special care not to touch other areas of the body with hands full of product.
Do not use Regaxidil:
In case of allergy to the active substance or any of the components included in this medicine.
If you have skin problems or wounds on the scalp.
If you suffer from heart or circulatory disease.
Regaxidil 20 mg may cause side effects, as with all medicines. In this case, side effects are classified according to their frequency of occurrence:
Frequent (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):
Local skin irritation (scaling and redness).
Contact dermatitis
Dry skin
Oedema (excessive fluid accumulation)
Burning and stinging sensation on the skin
Hypertrichosis (hair growth on the skin)
Rare (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):
Allergic reactions
Eczema (inflammatory skin condition)
Headache and paraesthesias (numbness in arms or legs)
Dizziness, weakness, malaise
neuritis (inflammation of a nerve) and taste disturbance
Irritation of the eyes, disturbance of vision
Otitis (ear inflammation) (particularly otitis externa)
Very rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):
Changes in blood pressure and heart rate.

Each ml of Regaxidil contains 20 mg minoxidil as the main active substance. The other excipients are: 96% ethanol, propylene glycol and purified water.
It is an easy to apply liquid medicine with a colourless, slightly yellowish appearance. Sun exposure should be avoided after application.
