It isa medicine in the form of lozenges with a pleasant mint flavour that is used to relieve nicotine withdrawalsymptoms that occur when trying to quit smoking.
It comes in a pack of 20 tablets.
Suitable for use by smokers over the age of 18 who want to quit.
Insert a lozenge into the mouth and occasionally move it from one side of the mouth to the other, until it dissolves completely. This may take about 10 minutes. Do not chew the lozenge or swallow it whole.
Do not use more than 15 lozenges a day.
Start using 1 lozenge every time you have an urge to smoke up to 8 to 12 lozenges a day.
Continue for up to 6 weeks, then gradually reduce the number of lozenges you use per day.
When you use 1 or 2 lozenges a day, stop using them.
After youhave successfully quit smoking, you may suddenly feel the desire to start smoking again, if this happens you can go back to using 1 tablet.
Do not use Niquitin 1.5 mg :
Like all medicines, NiQuitin can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them .At the recommended doses NiQuitin has not been found to cause any serious adverse effects.
Smoking cessation may cause symptoms such as dizziness, headache, sleep disturbances, cough, cold-like symptoms. Symptoms such as depression, irritability, anxiety, restlessness, increased appetite and insomnia may also be related to withdrawal symptoms associated with quitting smoking.

Do not interchange the use of NiQuitin lozenges with nicotine gum during smoking cessation.
Each NiQuitin lozenge contains 1.5 mg of nicotine (in the form of aresincomplex called nicotine polacrylex ). The other ingredients are: mannitol (E421), sodium alginate (E401), xanthan gum (E415), potassium bicarbonate (E501), polycarbophil calcium , sodium carbonate anhydrous (E500), acesulfame potassium (E950), flavour masking agent, peppermint flavour, menthol flavour, magnesium stearate (E470b).
Always use NiQuitin 1.5 mg exactly as directed in this leaflet . If you need treatment with this medicine for more than 9 months in a row, you should consult a health care professional.
