NiQuitin is a medicine that is used as a smoking c essation aid throughNicotine Replacement Therapy or NRT.
It comes in a pack of 60 tablets.
Suitable for use in adults over 18 years of age who want to stop smoking and who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day.
Insert a lozenge into the mouth and occasionally move it from one side of the mouth to the other, until it dissolves completely. This may take about 10 minutes. Do not chew the lozenge or swallow it whole.
Do not use more than 15 lozenges a day.
If you need treatment with this medicine for more than 9 months in a row, you should consult a health care professional.
Start using 1 tablet every time you have an urge to smoke up to 8 to 12 lozenges a day.
Continue for up to 6 weeks, then gradually reduce the number of lozenges you use per day.
When you use 1 or 2 lozenges a day, stop using them.
After youhave successfully quit smoking, you may suddenly feel the desire to start smoking again, if this happens you can go back to using 1 tablet.
Do not use NiQuitin 4 mg lozenges:
Like all medicines ,NiQuitin 4 mg tablets may cause side effects, although not all patients will experience them .In this case, at the recommended doses NiQuitin has not been found to cause any serious side effects.
Smoking cessation may cause symptoms such as dizziness, headache, sleep disturbances, cough, cold-like symptoms. Symptoms such as depression, irritability, anxiety, restlessness, increased appetite and insomnia may also be related to withdrawal symptoms associated with quitting smoking.

Each Niquitin lozenge contains 4 mg of nicotine. The other excipients are: mannitol (E421), sodium alginate (E401), xanthan gum (E415), potassium bicarbonate (E501), polycarbophil calcium , sodium carbonate anhydrous (E500), acesulfame potassium (E950), peppermint flavouring powder, sucralose (E955), magnesium stearate (E470b).
Do not interchange the use of NiQuitin 4 mg lozenges with nicotine chewing gum during smoking cessation.
