Contraindications

Do not use Nicotinell Mint Lozenges:

Side effects

As with all medicines, Nicotinell Mint 2 mg tablets may cause side effects, but this does not mean that everyone will experience them.

Some of the effects you may notice during the first few days are dizziness, headache and sleep disturbances, which can be attributed to the symptoms associated with quitting smoking, and may sometimes be due to insufficient nicotine administration. The following have also been observed:

  • Very common: feeling sick (nausea).
  • Frequent: inflammation of the mucous membrane of the mouth, oral discomfort, sore throat, vomiting, stomach upset, stomach pain, diarrhoea, indigestion, heartburn, flatulence, hiccups, constipation, headache and dizziness, cough, dry mouth.
  • Infrequent: palpitations.
  • Rare: heart rhythm disturbances and allergic reactions, hypersensitivity reactions.
  • Unknown frequency: urticaria, ulcerative stomatitis, tremor, shortness of breath, difficulty swallowing, belching, increased secretion of saliva, weakness, tiredness, feeling unwell and flu-like symptoms.
 

Compositio n

Each Nicotinell Mint lozenge contains 2 mg nicotine (corresponding to 6.144 mg nicotine bitartrate dihydrate). The other excipients are: maltitol (E965), anhydrous sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, polyacrylate, xanthan gum, anhydrous colloidal silica, levomenthol, peppermint essential oil, aspartame (E951) and magnesium stearate.
