3M Nexcare Athletic Wrap 5 x 2.5 cm is a bandage that securely holds and protects limbs affected with sprains or strains. It is useful for holding splints and compresses and can be cut to size as required.
3M Nexcare Athletic Wrap is a bandage made with state-of-the-art technology to help repel water and prevent it from penetrating wounds. The box contains a roll of latex bandage 2.5 m long, 5 cm wide, 2.5 cm thick in dark colour and without adhesives. The material is elastic, thin, breathable, lightweight, can be cut to size and does not need fastening hooks as it adheres to itself. This version has been specially designed for the protection of athletes who often injure their knees, ankles or elbows.
It provides a firm hold on the injured areas and protects them from accidental inflections that can worsen their condition. In addition, it neutralises the entry of germs and dirt without preventing the treated area from breathing comfortably. It can also be used to secure compresses, catheter tubes and other products used in heat and cold therapy. The support offered by this bandage is reliable and secure for injured and weak joints without the use of adhesives. Its structure allows the bandage to remain in place and fulfil its purpose of adequately containing the affected area.
It can be used as a preventive method for comfort before, during and after your favourite sporting activity. It is advisable to constantly check the treated area for signs such as swelling, pain, discolouration, tingling, numbness and other perceptions of pain and discomfort. If one or more of these symptoms occur, the wrap should be removed immediately and a general practitioner should be consulted.
This first aid bandage is suitable for children, adults and elderly people suffering from joint or muscle injuries or discomfort.
For its application it should be unwrapped carefully, with a firm and constant pulse so as not to wrinkle it. Place the initial end using the fingernail and start bandaging, keeping the side of the roll over the injury and the unrolled part towards the injury. The appropriate number of turns are made according to the firmness to be achieved. In the case of using it to support a dressing, only 2 or 3 turns are made. Once the bandage is in place, check that it is not too tight and that the joint can move normally, as the idea is to support it and not to immobilise it.
