3M Nexcare Athletic Wrap, cohesive bandage with dimensions of 3 x 7.5 cm ideal for protecting and supporting sprains, compresses and splints. It is gentle on sensitive skin and is firmly fixed without the need for additional support elements.
3M Nexcare Athletic Wrap is a bandage made of lightweight, thin, breathable material that allows air to circulate so that the injury remains dry and sweat-free. It can be cut to size without losing its structure and adheres to itself to facilitate compression and avoid the use of clips or hooks.
It is lengthwise elastic, self-adhesive and resistant to water and sweat. It is practical and functional for supporting, protecting and securing injuries to ankles, elbows, knees and wrists. It retains compression and support even when wet or if the wearer is involved in high-intensity, endurance sports.
It is effective for immobilising different joints and preventing injuries in people who have to lift heavy objects. It can also be used to hold dressings on arms, legs or back, as it does not come off when in contact with sweat or constant movement, maintaining its compression and fixation.
It can be easily removed without leaving sticky residue on the skin, facilitates adhesion and should not be wrapped too tightly so as not to interrupt circulation and cause more complex injuries. During use it is advisable to check the area frequently, at least once a day.
It should be removed if swelling, severe pain, numbness, tingling or change in skin colour is noticed, and a doctor should be notified. Once it is removed, it cannot be reused, because it has lost its adherence and properties. This type of bandage is widely used in sports, health and physiotherapy, and can even be used to protect injuries to pets.
It is a medical accessory indicated for adults with sprains, strains or fractures to protect them from blows or trauma. It also helps to hold splints and compresses covering injuries or surgeries.
Before applying the bandage, clean the area with soap and water and dry it very well. Then remove the bandage from its packaging, take one end and unwrap it a little to fix it. Start wrapping the joint or muscle slowly, allowing the bandage to adhere to itself, without stretching it excessively. After the area or injury is adequately covered, the bandage is cut with special bandage scissors and the end is pressed down so that it sticks and does not come off.
Not suitable for those with intolerance or allergic reactions to its fabric or latex. Not for use on bleeding, open, festering or feverish wounds.
