NiQuitin Mint chewing gum is used to help people quit smoking, through a treatment known as Nicotine Replacement Therapy or NRT.
Contains 100 pieces of gum.
It is indicated to relieve the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal symptoms in nicotine dependence as an aid to smoking cessation.
This medicine comes in a pack of 100 chewing gum.
Suitable for use in people over 18 years of age who want to stop smoking.
Only one piece of chewing gum is to be used at a time and you should not use another for 1 to 2 hours. Generally 8 to 12 pieces a day are used. Do not exceed 24 chewing gums a day.
The duration of treatment depends on the needs of each smoker, and it is not advisable to stop smoking abruptly, as this could encourage a return to addiction to tobacco. It is preferable to reduce the dose gradually.
The treatment should not be abandoned definitively until the dose is stabilised at 1 or 2 chewing gums a day.
Regular use of the chewing gum for more than 6 months is not recommended.

Like all medicines, Niquitin Fresh Mint 2 mg chewing gum may cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them. In this casesome of the unwanted effects experienced when you stop smoking may be withdrawal syndromes due to the decrease in nicotine consumption .These effects include:irritability, aggressiveness, impatience or frustration,feelings of anxiety, agitation or difficulty in concentrating,sleep disturbances, increased appetite or appetite problems.These effects include: irritability, aggressiveness, impatience or frustration, feelings of anxiety, agitation or difficulty concentrating, sleep disturbances,increased appetite or weight gain,depression,cravings,decreased heart rate,bleeding gums, dizzinessor slight disorientation,cough, sore throat, nasal congestion or mucus.
Most adverse effects occur during the first few weeks of starting treatment.
If you suffer or have suffered from any of the following diseases, you should try to stop smoking without using any medicine. If you do not succeed, you should consult your doctor for further treatment.
Each piece of Niquitin Fresh Mint gum contains 2 mg of nicotine (in the form of a resin complex called nicotine resinate). The other ingredients are: butilhidroxitolueno (E321), sorbitol (E420), xilitol (E967), carbonato cálcico (E170), carbonato sóanhydrous hydrogen carbonate (E500), glycerol (E422), acesulfame potassium (E950), sucralose (E955), mannitol (E421), acacia (E414), titanium dioxide (E171) and flavours: optacool, eucamentol and levomenthol.
To improve the chance of success in quitting smoking, you should not smoke at all when starting this treatment.
