It is a medication in the form of gum formulated with 2 mg of nicotine and fruit flavour that is used as a smoking cessation aid. By chewing the gum, nicotine is slowly released and absorbed through the mucosa of the mouth, relieving the withdrawal symptoms of nicotine dependence.

It comes in a convenient pack of 204 chewing gums.

Its main function is to relieve the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal syndrome, which can occur when a person tries to quit smoking. This medicine is used as part of nicotine replacement therapy, where nicotine is slowly released by chewing the gum and absorbed through the mucous membrane of the mouth.

Start using this product the day you quit smoking. To successfully quit smoking with this treatment, you must stop smoking completely.

1. Slowly chew a piece of gum until the taste becomes strong. Do not eat or drink while you have a piece of gum in your mouth.
2. Place the chewing gum between your cheek and gum.
3. As the taste diminishes, chew the gum again.
4. Repeat for 30 minutes to gradually release the nicotine.

Nicotinell Fruit 2 mg may cause side effects, as with all medicines on the market. Some of the effects you may notice during the first few days are dizziness, headache and sleep disturbances, which may be attributed to the symptoms related to quitting smoking, and may sometimes be due to insufficient nicotine administration.

• Very frequent: Feeling sick (nausea).
  
• Frequent: pain or mild irritation of the mouth or tongue, sore throat or inflammation, feeling sick, upset stomach, diarrhoea, indigestion/heartburn, flatulence, hiccups, excessive salivation , constipation , difficultyin swallowing, difficulty in swallowing.Rarely :palpitations , palpitations , itching, dizziness and headache, vomiting , insomnia, coughing, dry mouthand jaw muscle pain, especially as a result of heavy chewing of gum.
• Uncommon: palpitations, itchy skin bumps (urticaria).
• Rare: fast or irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, symptoms of severe allergic reaction including sudden wheezing or tightness in the chest, skin rash, rash with reddening of the skin.Rarely: fast or irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reaction symptoms including sudden wheezing or chest tightness, rash and fainting, heart rhythm disturbances (faster heartbeat) and allergic reactions. Rarely, allergic reactions can be severe with the following symptoms: swelling of the skin; swelling of the face and mouth; lightheadedness, dizziness and fainting (symptoms of low blood pressure); difficulty breathing.

Each piece of Nicotinell Fruit medicated chewing gum contains 2 mg of nicotine, corresponding to 10 mg ofnicotine-polacryline. The other ingredients are: gum base (contains butylated hydroxytoluene (E321)), calcium carbonate, sorbitol (E420), anhydrous sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, polacryline, glycerol (E422), purified water, levomenthol, tutti frutti flavouring , saccharin, saccharin sódica, acesulfame potassium, xylitol (E967), mannitol (E421), gelatine, titanium dioxide (E171), carnauba wax and talc. " Nicotinell Fruit contains sorbitol, butylated hydroxytoluene and sodium.

Chewing gum can stick and in rare cases can damage dentures and dental bridges.
