Cream for the relief of skin irritated by contact with soaps, detergents, metals, insect bites and nettles.

It is a medicine for skin use in cream form formulated with hydrocortisone, a corticosteroid-type active ingredient that relieves itchy skin irritated by allergies caused by contact with soaps, metals, detergents, insect bites and stinging nettles .
Intended to soothe itchy skin irritated by allergic reaction in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Apply a small amount of cream to the affected skin area, forming a thin film. Do not exceed the maximum dose of 2 applications per day. Wash hands thoroughly after use.
Do not use for more than 7 days in a row, unless expressly advised by a doctor.
Do not use Calmiox:
- In children under 12 years of age, unless medically recommended.
- In case of allergy to hydrocortisone or to any of the components included in this medicine.
- On areas of skin with wounds, acne and fungus.
- On ulcers in bedridden patients or due to irritation caused by nappy rash.
- If the area is infected.
Do not apply this medicine in the eyes or on anal, genital or oral mucous membranes, as it is only for external use on the skin.
Calmiox cream may cause side effects, as with all medicines, which does not mean that everyone will suffer from them. In fact, at the recommended doses, side effects are very rare and, if they do occur, they usually disappear when the treatment is stopped or the frequency of use is reduced.
The following side effects have been observed:
- Rare: allergic reaction, skin problems (rash, erythema, atrophy, folliculitis, acne, fragility, telangiectasias, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, hypertrichosis.
- Very rare: cushing's syndrome, increased blood and urine glucose, hypothalamic-pituitary disorders, tachyphylaxis, rebound effect.
- Frequency not known: blurred vision.
Each gram of Calmiox cream contains 5 mg of hydrocortisone as the main active ingredient. The other excipients are: ethylene and polyethylene glycol palmitostearate, glycolised polyoxyethylene glycerides, liquid paraffin, benzoic acid (E210), edetate disodium, butylated hydroxyanisole (E320), bronopol and purified water.
Calmiox is a medicated cream formulated with hydrocortisone, an active ingredient used for the treatment of minor skin irritations caused by bites, contact reactions to soaps, nettles or other external agents. It is therefore a very useful medicine in any medicine cabinet.
It is administered in a thin layer over the area to be treated, once or twice a day, depending on the intensity.
