Trofalgon 20 capsules

It is a medicine indicated for the treatment of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) deficiency due to increased needs, insufficient or unbalanced diets, periods of convalescence or reduced absorption.

It comes in a pack of 20 capsules.

Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 14 years of age.

The recommended dosage is 1 capsule per day, with a little water.

Do not use Trofalgon capsules:

• In children under 14 years of age.

• If you are allergic to cyanocobalamin or lysozyme or any of the ingredients of this medicine.

• If you suffer from Leber's disease (hereditary optic nerve atrophy), because it may be aggravated.

Like all medicines, Trofalgon can cause side effects. This does not mean that everybody will experience side effects. Specifically, the following have been observed:

• In some patients with Leber's disease (hereditary optic nerve atrophy) a rapid worsening has occurred during administration of cyanocobalamin.

• A case of a condition with clustered pus-filled nodules (lumps) with greasy face and neck (rosacea fulminans) has been described with B-vitamin supplementation.

The active ingredients of Trofalgon are: vitamin B12 and lysozyme. Each hard capsule contains 1,000 micrograms of cyanocobalamin and 40 mg of lysozyme hydrochloride.

Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, gelatine, titanium dioxide, ferric oxide (E-172) and erythrosine (E-127).

This medicine in capsules is formulated with lysozyme, which can help in certain cases of infections, and vitamin B12, ideal for cases of vitamin B12 deficiency due to various causes.

It is advisable to eat a healthy diet, with adequate protein and vitamin intake.
