Mirazul 1,25mg/ml Eye Drops Solution 10 ml

Mirazul is a medicine whose active ingredient is phenylephrine hydrochloride, which belongs to the group of medicines known as ocular decongestants, due to its vasoconstrictor effect. It is indicated for the relief of eye irritation caused by fumes, air, dust, chlorine from swimming pools, sea water, stuffy environments, contact lenses, cosmetics, eye fatigue, etc.

Suitable for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. Not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, except under medical prescription.

The recommended dose is 1-2 drops in each eye, as needed, 3 or 4 times a day if necessary.

Wash hands before use.

Do not use Mirazul:

• In children under 12 years of age.

• If you are allergic to phenylephrine hydrochloride or to any of the excipients.

• If you have glaucoma.

• If you are taking any monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) medicines (such as some antidepressants) or have taken them up to 21 days before using Mirazul.

• If you have severe thyroid disease or dry rhinitis (inflammation of the mucous membranes inside the nose).

Mirazul can cause side effects, as with all medicines. In particular, the following side effects, the frequency of which cannot be precisely defined, have been observed: allergic conjunctivitis, mydriasis (dilation of the pupils), disturbance of visual accommodation, eye irritation or contact dermatitis.

The active substance in Mirazul is phenylephrine. Each ml of solution contains 1.25 mg phenylephrine hydrochloride.

Excipients: disodium phosphate, benzoic acid (E-210), ethyl alcohol 0.0037% v/v, chlorbutanol, benzyl alcohol, terpineol, methylene blue, sodium chloride and water for injections.

Mirazul is an eye drop solution in a 10 ml bottle.

Caution should be exercised as chronic use of this medicine may cause rebound congestion in the eye.

Patients who are not accustomed to contact lenses should not use this medicine for more than 5 days in a row without consulting a doctor, in order to avoid masking possible eye irritation due to incorrectly fitted contact lenses.

Avoid contact with soft contact lenses, as this alters their colour. Therefore, they should be removed before application and you should wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.
