Virbac Hpm Feline Urology Struvite Dissolution U1 3Kg is a specially formulated food for cats with urinary problems related to the formation of struvite crystals. This veterinary food helps to dissolve struvite stones and prevent their recurrence. It also provides balanced and complete nutrition to maintain the health of your cat's urinary tract.
Veterinary HPM U1 Struvite Dissolution is a dietary food, indicated for the dissolution of struvite stones (between 5 and 12 weeks).
Virbac U1 Struvite Dissolution is a low-carbohydrate, high-protein diet, with 44% protein, 90% of which is of animal origin.

Benefits
Increased water consumption. The high amount of protein and sodium stimulates water consumption and helps to increase the frequency and quantity of urination.
Rapid dissolution of stones. The average time for dissolution of struvite crystals is about 14 days.
High content of omega-3 essential fatty acids (EPA+DHA). Fish oil provides a high omega-3 content, which limits inflammation of the lower urinary tract.
Acidification of urine (pH 6.0-6.5). The food maintains the urinary pH between 6.0 and 6.5 to allow the dissolution of struvite stones, without increasing the risk of oxalate formation (efficacy proven by Virbac).
Phosphorus chelator. The addition of chitosan helps phosphorus to be eliminated less in urine, and therefore, there is less risk of crystal formation.
