Tincture of Iodine Orravan Topical Solution 40 ml

It is a medicine whose active ingredient is iodine, which has an antiseptic action against a wide variety of germs, including fungi.

It is indicated for use as a skin antiseptic in small or superficial wounds, as well as for disinfection before a venous puncture or surgery.

It comes in a convenient 40 ml bottle.

Intended for use on adults and children over 3 years of age.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding should not be used on very large areas as it could reach the foetus or breast milk.

Apply a small amount directly to the affected area, previously washed and dried. If considered necessary, it could be applied up to 3 times a day.

Do not use Orravan Tincture of Iodine:

• In children under 3 years of age without medical supervision.

• If allergic to iodine or to any of the excipients.

• In burn patients.

• On eyes, inside of ears and other mucous membranes.

Orravan Tincture of Iodine may cause side effects, as with all medicines on the market. In this case, the following side effects have been observed during the period of use of this medicinal product, the frequency of which cannot be established with certainty:

• Skin disorders, such as local irritation, itching or stinging. In these cases, treatment should be discontinued and the affected area washed with water.

• Allergic reactions may occur with symptoms such as swelling of the skin and tissues under the skin (angioedema), joint pain, bleeding in the skin, significant increase in the number of eosinophils (eosinophil count).(a type of white blood cells), fever, enlarged lymph nodes (lymphadenopathy), excessive bruising and bleeding disorder, skin rash (urticaria).

The active substance in Orravan Tincture of Iodine is iodine. Each ml of solution contains 20 mg iodine (2%). Excipients: potassium iodide and 50º ethanol.

This medicine is a brown-coloured skin solution, which is for topical use only. Do not swallow and avoid contact with eyes, ears and other mucous membranes.

This medicine may stain skin and clothing. Apply water to remove skin stains. For clothing, wash clothing with soap and water.

Use may cause interference with analytical tests.
