The Prim 9902 sling in size M is a latex-free orthopaedic accessory for arm support measuring 35 cm to 42 cm. It can be used on either the right or left limb without losing its functionality.
Prim forearm sling is light, comfortable and easy to use. It has a support ring so that the thumb is protected. It is made of soft, durable, breathable non-woven fabric that counteracts excess perspiration so that it does not irritate the skin. It incorporates a rubber shoulder support for added comfort and to prevent sore marks on the skin. It has buckles to regulate its height and to be able to adjust the sling in different positions.
This orthosis offers support and immobilisation when there are injuries to any of the upper limbs and helps support the weight of splints and bandages. It is an accessory that helps to control swelling and fluid accumulation. It also helps to reduce pain and promotes the healing process of the injury. It helps to distribute the weight of the arm between the back, shoulder and abdomen to help stabilise the arm and avoid overloading.
This brace is indicated for people with fractures or dislocation of the shoulder, elbow or wrist. Also for adults who are in the post-surgical recovery period involving the upper extremities such as shoulder or elbow surgery.
If possible, the injured arm should be bent from the elbow and placed at a right angle, with the thumb pointing upwards and grasped with the loop or ring provided. The arm is slid until the elbow rests on the area that is closed. The strap is passed over the back, behind the neck and over the collarbone opposite the affected limb. The buckle is closed, making sure that the fastening is secure, and the strap is adjusted without exceeding 90° at the elbow and ensuring maximum comfort.
The instructions of the physician regarding the daily hours of use and the total duration of treatment should be followed. It is not advisable to wear the orthosis while taking a shower.
Not suitable for children or persons with open, bleeding or oozing wounds. Also not suitable for persons with allergic reactions or skin intolerance to the use of the orthosis. The sling should not be used for purposes other than those prescribed and should not be shared with others.
