The active ingredient in Nicorette Clear isnicotine .A 13.5cm2transdermalpatch contains 23.62 mg of nicotine and delivers a dose of 0.93 mg of nicotine per hour for 16 hours. The other excipients are: medium chain triglycerides, basic butylated methacrylate copolymer, polyethylene terephthalate film , acrylate matrix (containing acrylic adhesive solution, potassium hydroxide, croscarmellose sódica, aluminium acetylacetonate ), protective coating (containing single polyethylene terephthalate (PET) foil coated with aluminium and silicone coated on both sides), printing ink (containing blending varnish, beige printing ink and brown printing ink) . Each nicotine patch is packaged in a sealedmulti-laminate pouch , and stored in the box.
Nicorette patches may beused on any area of the trunk, upper arm or hip .The skin must be intact so that the absorption of nicotine is not disturbed. In addition, it is recommended to choose a different area each day of application, allowing several days to elapse before using the same area again .
Therecommended daily dose should not be exceeded.
