It is a medicine made with merbromin, an active ingredient with antiseptic properties that is used to disinfect small superficial wounds, burns, cracks and grazes.
It comes in a 250 ml bottle.
Specially formulated for use on adults and children from the age of 2 years. In children under this age and during pregnancy and breastfeeding, use only under medical prescription.
Wash the wound with soap and water and dry. Then use the dropper to coat the wound and its edges. Leave for a few minutes to ensure fixation, remove excess with gauze or cotton wool without touching the wound area.
It is recommended to apply 2-3 times a day.
Do not use Mercromina Film:
In children under 2 years of age, unless expressly recommended by a doctor.
In people allergic to merbromin or any of the excipients.
In eyes, ears, mouth and other mucous membranes.
On large areas of skin.
During pregnancy and lactation, unless prescribed by a doctor.
As with all medicines, Mercurochrome Film may cause side effects, although this does not mean that everyone will experience them. In this case, side effects do not usually occur, although in allergic individuals it may cause skin sensitisation.
The active substance in Mercurochrome Film is Merbromin 2%. Each 100ml of the solution contains 2 grams of merbromin. The other excipients are: povidone, polyoxyethylene lauryl ether, purified water q.s.
Do not use on very large wounds or with bandages that do not allow the skin to perspire.
Special care should be taken in handling as it may irreversibly stain clothing.
