FontActiv thickener is a food product formulated from modified corn starch. By mixing this ingredient with liquid or semi-solid foods, the viscosity of the food can be increased.

With the thickener, swallowing is facilitated and, at the same time, the risk of passing food supplies into the respiratory tract (bronchoaspiration) is reduced. In this way, this food supplement helps to keep people hydrated and nourished.

It is administered orally. It is designed to help reduce dehydration and malnutrition in adults and the elderly. However, it should not be considered as a substitute for a balanced and healthy diet.

The amount of thickener added to the mixture depends on the desired consistency, in order to provide adequate and safe chewing or swallowing.

FontActiv Neutral Flavour Thickener 250 g x 6 Jars is a product indicated for people who have difficulty swallowing solid or liquid foods.

Place the amount required to thicken the food to be consumed. Then use a fork to whisk for about half a minute. In case of using an electric mixer, reduce the time of this process to 10 seconds. Finally, let it stand for 15 seconds and then swallow it.

If a juice consistency is desired, add 1 level measuring spoon, i.e. 4 g, to 100 ml of liquid. For a pudding, the mixture takes 8 g, and in case you want a honey-like consistency, add 6 g of thickener.

There is no information about side effects related to the consumption of this product. In case of an adverse reaction, it is recommended to discontinue use and consult a doctor.
