Betadine Oral 125 ml

It is a medicine formulated with povidone iodine, an active ingredient indicated as an oral-pharyngeal antiseptic that is used to treat the symptoms of mild oral infections such as canker sores and small ulcers, bad breath, hoarseness and hoarseness.

Suitable for use in adults and children over 1 year of age.

In pregnancy and lactation, consult a doctor and/or pharmacist and do not use for a prolonged period of time.

Dilute one capful of product in half a glass of water and rinse the mouth 2 or 3 times a day. Itcan be used as a gargle or mouthwash after brushing teeth.

• Do not use Betadine Bucal in people allergic to povidone iodine or to any of the excipients.

• Also not for use by people with hyperthyroidism or other acute thyroid diseases.

• Do not use before, during and after administration of radioactive iodine and with mercury-containing products due to the formation of a substance that may damage the skin.

Betadine Bucal may cause side effects, as with all medicines:

• Rare side effects: hypersensitivity and contact dermatitis, small blisters and itching.

• Very rare side effects: anaphylactic reactions, hyperthyroidism with tachycardia and agitation and angioedema.

• Adverse effects of unknown frequency: hypothyroidism, electrolyte imbalance, metabolic acidosis, pneumonitis, acute renal failure, abnormal blood osmolarity, dry skin, skin discolouration and chemical skin burn.

The active substance of Betadine Bucal is povidone iodine. Each ml of solution contains 100 mg of povidone iodine. Other excipients: glycerol, peppermint flavouring, saccharin sodium, sodium hydroxide and purified water.

This is a brown coloured drug solution.

Do not swallow and avoid contact with eyes and ears.

In case of prolonged use, thyroid function tests should be performed.
