Shampoo for the relief of scalp flaking disorders such as: seborrhoeic dermatitis, psoriasis, dandruff and itching.

This is a medicinal shampoo whose active ingredient is coal tar, which helps to reduce excessive scalp desquamation. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of scalp flaking disorders, such as the relief of itching and flaking of the skin in psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff.
Suitable for use in adults and adolescents over 14 years of age.
During pregnancy and lactation there are not enough studies, although it is contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy. If you wish to use it, consult your doctor beforehand.
Use Piroxgel shampoo on the scalp once or twice a week and rinse thoroughly with water.
The usual duration of treatment is 4 weeks, after which time you should see improvement. If a longer treatment is required, it should be carried out under medical supervision.
Contraindications
Do not use Piroxgel shampoo:
In children under 14 years of age, unless prescribed by a doctor.
If you are allergic to coal tar or to any of the excipients.
If you suffer from any of the following skin problems:- active, inflamed psoriasis or eczema with fluid discharge, pustular psoriasis, photosensitivity, inflammation of hair follicles or acne vulgaris.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and have not previously consulted a doctor. Contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Piroxgel shampoo may cause side effects, as with all medicines. This does not mean that all patients will suffer from them. Specifically, the following have been observed:
Rare: severe allergic reactions, itchy rash, swelling of the face or mouth and difficulty breathing.
Other effects: eye irritation, unusual hair loss or thinning, dermatitis, changes in hair colour, abnormal hair texture, sensitivity to sunlight, skin irritation with possible dryness, redness, itching or even burning of the skin and skin pain, rash or inflammation at the application site.
Frequency not known: inflammation of hair follicles, generalised pustular psoriasis and altered varicose status.
The active substance of Piroxgel is coal tar. Each ml of shampoo contains 6 mg coal tar (equivalent to 0.6%).
As excipients: sodium lauryl sulphate, polyethylene glycol 1500, polyquaternium-10, coco diethanolamide, lauric diethanolamide, PEG (polyethylene glycol)-7 glyceryl cocoate, lauric-mirisic alcohol, PEG-150 distearate, cocoamidopropyl betaine, tea-coconut protein hydrolysate, piroctone olamine, fragrance D-1095, sodium chloride, citric acid monohydrate, ethanol and purified water.
This is a medicated shampoo with a clear amber gel appearance and a slightly perfumed odour.
It should be used in two applications, with the time it should be in contact with the scalp being about 3-5 minutes between each application.
Avoid getting the shampoo in contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If this happens, rinse with plenty of water.
Piroxgel may temporarily stain light hair, skin and clothing.
